Thousands of happy divers out there have all been trained by Dahab's premier centres. Many are happy to just blow a few bubbles on holiday while a good few are climbing the PADI ladder. Below is a comprehensive list of all the PADI dive courses, so whichever one you need we can arrange in advance.

E-learning.

PADI courses contain theory and diving practice to ensure that you understand the essentials of diving. There are two options for study: carry out the study of theory - following the day’s diving or, by e-learning. The benefit of e-learning is that it allows more free time for you to enjoy your holiday.

Registering with PADI before your holiday gives access to online manuals, knowledge tests and videos. Once you’ve completed the knowledge tests PADI will automatically forward the paperwork to your nominated, approved PADI dive centre.

If you want to pursue the more traditional route and study on-site course materials can be purchased at your dive centre.

INTRODUCTION DIVE

Have you ever thought about what it must be like to actually breathe underwater? Well this is your chance to try it in the beautiful Red Sea, under the supervision of a qualified professional diving instructor. All you have to do is kick your fins, open your eyes and enjoy the wonders of the Red Sea reefs. As you glide weightless through the clear waters, a kaleidoscope of shimmering fish life and colourful coral gardens surrounds you.

Dahab is one of the worlds premiere dive destinations, so while you are here why not make the most of your stay and join the wet suit brigade? Come and see what all the fuss is about. This opens the gates to all the other available PADI dive courses in Dahab.

Bubble Blower (INTRO for kids)

This is one of the PADI dive courses in Dahab for the kids and they can get started at 8 yrs old! This is a gentle (arm's depth) introduction to that unforgettable first breath under water.

Done in the pool with a tiny tank, the little ‘bubble blowers’ are guided around the pool at Red Rock by their instructor to have some fun. Parents are welcome to join in, or take the chance to get some quality time while the little ones are taken care of.

PADI Open Water Diver

What will I Learn?

This is the PADI dive course in Dahab that will give you the training and skills you require to visit the underwater world in safety. Your instructor can assist with additional

training for special activities, as well as tell you how to get the required orientation to dive in the new areas, as you become more experienced.

You are about to discover that it is not possible for a non-diver to understand what diving is really like. You will see marvellous and fascinating aquatic life first-hand, as well as experiencing sensations which are unique to diving – like the thrill of breathing under water for the first time, and the feeling of floating weightless. As your experience grows, so too will your curiosity, excitement and sense of adventure.

Is it safe?

Diving is safe and easy with the correct understanding, skills and equipment. Some aquatic climates can be explored easily with snorkeling equipment, or you can make deeper, longer dives using SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Aparatus) equipment.

The Open Water PADI dive Course in Dahab is designed to make you comfortable with the necessary equipment and ensure you gain the understanding and skills needed for safe and enjoyable diving.

PADI Rescue Diver course

What will I Learn?

You will learn to help prevent and if needed, manage dive emergencies, both minor and major, with a variety of procedures. The PADI Rescue Diver course is demanding but refines your diving skills and builds your confidence. Most certified PADI divers reflect on their rescue training as one of the most challenging and rewarding courses they have undertaken.

Although a serious subject, the training is fun! Subjects covered include self rescue, diver stress, diving first aid, emergency management, equipment problems and rescue and assistance processes for conscious and unconscious victims, underwater and on the surface.

Rescue Diver training expands your diving knowledge, improves your diving skills and teaches you to be a more aware and responsible diver. More importantly, rescue training can help you to save lives and increases diver safety by preparing you to respond to and handle diving emergencies. It is the first point in your training when the instructor starts to focus your attention on assisting others. This certification is also an important pre-requisite for the Divemaster rating.

Pre-requisites for the course

PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent (equivalent=certification beyond entry level with at least 20 logged dives, showing experience in Deep dives and Navigation). Minimum Age is 15 years. Prior to certification you must have completed a sanctioned course in CPR within the last two years – Emergency First Response meets this requirement. You can download the PADI Medical Form here to see if you need medical clearance before enrolling in a Rescue Diver course.

Duration

The course is run over 3 days, and is divided between academic sessions, designed to teach correct emergency planning, and in-depth training and execution of rescue scenarios at the surface and underwater. For study options, please see the E-learning paragraph at the top

PADI Divemaster Course

The PADI Divemaster course is the first professional level of diving qualifications and one of the finest programs of diver education in existence. This course is normally a prerequisite to work as a Dive Guide; you learn how to organise and conduct diving theory and assist divers in training. You will spend time with your instructor receiving hands on training, assist with dive courses and guiding local dives in Dahab. which is invaluable practical experience.

The course is normally run over a period of 3 to 4 weeks, but can be extended to incorporate an internship which is the recommended way forward.

What will I Learn?

The Divemaster is responsible for people, planning, orienting and nearly every aspect of safe diving. As this is a considerable responsibility, the decision to become a Divemaster should not be made rashly.

Being a Divemaster

You will experience unequalled rewards in terms of personal satisfaction and fulfillment. If you are interested in taking your diving further than the recreational level, PADI Divemaster rating is essential, enabling you to explore the professional opportunities available. The decision to pursue this goal is to be congratulated, and it is hoped that this will be the beginning of a journey that will take the serious diver into an entirely different domain of diving – the realm of the professional.

Pre-requisites for the course

PADI Advanced and Rescue Diver or equivalent (Requires proof of certification in advanced diving and diving rescue from a recognised training agency and proof of 20 logged dives). Minimum age: 18.
